A very grand canyon

The Grand Canyon

Located in Arizona, The Grand Canyon is an iconic National Park that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide and a mile (1.6km) deep.

We visited the park in May of 2014 and even at that time of year, some of the roads were closed due to snow at The North Rim. We ventured in at The South Rim which was completely free of snow and the weather was a warm 25 degrees (Celcius).

We recommend making use of the free shuttle bus to get around The South Rim. Our accommodation for the two nights we were there was in Williams, a wonderful little town full of spark on Route 66.
